Moving...Again

Just as Erik finishes his last move from Oregon to Wyoming, we set out to move again. At least it's only a mile or two away. We got a house!!! Everything is falling into place and we know that this is where we were suppossed to be. Well, it's off to packing.

Remodeling

Well, the work never stops.  In the last week, we have:

1. moved too much furniture (I did convince Erik to get rid of our huge and very old couch)
2. finished removing the rest of the popcorn ceiling (I haven't been able to breathe in days now from the dust)
3. gotten very high off of Kilz (they should put a warning on the can, oh wait I think they did)
4. painted the living room and hall (I think more paint ended up on the floor and on Jack, even with the canvas drop cloth)
5. installed baseboards (on very crooked walls where 45 degree angles are within 20 degrees or so)
6. sanded cabinets (again on the, I can't breathe!  Erik replaced my 100 grit with 60 grit, and after I made a divot in the drawer he took away the sander--just a little too powerful I guess)
7. painted cabinets (I didn't paint those, but Erik's complaining of brush hairs being stuck in the paint)
8. built a cabinet (I still think Erik tried building it just so he could buy a new tool.
TBD: We still have the dining room and kitchen to paint and we're waiting for a guy to call about replacing our counter top with a remnant/discontinued granite (can't beat $400).

All our closest friends know how stubborn Erik and I are, both being Taureans.  The high anxiety of applying for jobs and Erik's stress of trying to finish school by December is starting to take its toll.  Not to mention getting ready for 10+ guests for our amazing block party tomorrow (including my divorced mom & step-dad/new girl friend).  Drama, drama, drama!  If only we could snap our fingers and have the "perfect" little life we're working so hard for.  But then it wouldn't be worth it, right?!

New to blogging

So I'm still trying to figure this out.  Made a profile... hope everyone can find it.  So Erik is completely zonked out and snoring.  I'm resisting the urge to put a ice cube on his back.  Poor guy, school is really tuff with all the anatomy.  I'll let him sleep... although he likes to push me off the bed when I snore.
